Transformational Leadership Practices in Headmaster Towards School Effectiveness in Subis District

High-performance leadership should be nurtured among school leaders to improve school performance. The success of a school is assessed through leadership by an admiring administrator and driving the direction of the school. This study will focus on the level of leadership practices of the headmasters towards the effectiveness of the schools in Subis district. Leadership practice level is measured through five elements of leadership theory that includes charismatic, increased influence, individual judgment, intellectual stimulation and motivation inspiration. While Peter Mortimore's effective school features include eleven major features and only six features selected according to the school's suitability are professional leadership, vision and goal sharing, high expectations, positive reinforcement, monitoring of dynamic development and organization. In addition, this study will also examine the relationship between the transformational leadership leadership practices towards the effectiveness of schools in Subis district.
Abstrak
Kepimpinan berprestasi tinggi perlu dipupuk dalam kalangan pemimpin di sekolah bagi meningkatkan prestasi sekolah. Kejayaan sesebuah sekolah dinilai melalui kepimpinan oleh seorang pentadbir yang mencorak dan memandu hala tuju sekolah tersebut. Kajian ini menumpukan kepada tahap amalan kepemimpinan transformasional guru besar terhadap keberkesanan sekolah di daerah Subis. Tahap amalan kepimpinan diukur melalui lima elemen teori kepimpinan yang merangkumi karismatik, peningkatan pengaruh, pertimbangan individu, ransangan intelektual dan inspirasi motivasi. Manakala ciri sekolah berkesan yang diutarakan oleh Peter Mortimore merangkumi sebelas ciri utama dan hanya enam ciri yang dipilih mengikut kesesuaian sekolah yang dikaji iaitu kepimpinan professional, perkongsian visi dan matlamat, pengharapan yang tinggi, pengukuhan yang positif, pemantauan terhadap perkembangan dan organisasi dinamik. Selain daripada itu, kajian ini juga akan mengkaji hubungan amalan kepimpinan transformasional guru besar terhadap keberkesanan sekolah di daerah Subis.
